Simple life Manhattan: a 90-square-foot microstudio (by kirstendirksen)
Crazily this woman seems like she has a pretty good life in her tiny space. Applaud her savings :)
Still her rent is 700$ which is pretty hilarious - I mean New York prices vs. rest of world. Wow. (3600$ for a normal apt, she claims)
Newt Gingrich says his passion for his country contributed to his marital infidelity - chicagotribune.com
This is high class BS. Sure, and I’m such every workaholic just falls right into the arms of another woman - yeah, that explains it. Good job Newt. A+ for coherence and lack of pandering.
Calm Man Successfully Buys TV And Denies Walmart Receipt Checkers - The Consumerist
This is mildly hilarious. Apparently it’s against the law for walmart and other stores to ask you for receipts in some states, and of course the people they employ don’t know that, so if you feel like being a bit of prick (which this guy did), you can simply refuse to show your receipt and walk out the door.
The Italian town of Viganella gets no direct sunlight for about seven weeks each winter. In order to solve this problem, in 2006, a computer controlled mirror was installed which is approximately 25 feet by 15 feet. The mirror is controlled such that it reflects sunlight into the town’s main city square during the day time.
This is just one of those WTF facts.
Great dancing :) Saw this on jordan tumbles but he took down the link :)

Men and women have been banned from shaking hands in a district of Somalia controlled by the Islamist group al-Shabab. Under the ban imposed in the southern town of Jowhar, men and women who are not related are also barred from walking together or chatting in public. … those who disobeyed the new rules would be punished according to Sharia law. The BBC’s Mohamed Moalimuu in Mogadishu says the penalty would probably be a public flogging.
“Q. What was the most surprising discovery [in the arctic sea]?
A. Perhaps the “seabed donuts”, found at a depth of about 1,500 feet, these are huge rings measuring 200 meters across by 30 meters high (600 feet by 100 feet).” (via Interview with a Bi-Polar Explorer - The Polar Explorer movie review)

“The cult classic “Showgirls” re-imagined as an indie art house flick. Re-cut to the trailer for “Black Swan” by Darren Aronofsky.”
